SmurfAudio

OAC editor · 16-bit mono WAV · V1.0.0

Replace a siren. Keep the length. Export the bank.

Import an OpenIV OAC, swap any sound, and export an OAC that OpenIV imports back as an AWC. Or turn the same clips into 16-bit mono WAV for SmurfBlues.

Not part of SmurfBlues. The four tones already loaded are starters. They are not ripped from the game.

Pack

Import chooses the .oac first, then the wave folder beside it. Highlight that folder and press Select Folder. Opening the folder goes inside it. You can also drop the .oac and the folder onto the box together.

Drop the .oac and its wave folder together.

Clip from a link

Paste a link, set the start and end, then add the clip. It is saved as 16-bit mono, ready to export. A direct audio link is read straight away. A YouTube link has to be used on the hosted SmurfAudio site. A page opened from the folder cannot play YouTube. Share this tab with audio on when asked, and the marked range is recorded. Skip any ad first. If End is filled in, Add a sound uses that same range.

Export the OAC, then import it back

  1. Export from OpenIV. Turn Edit mode on. Open mods\x64\audio\sfx\RESIDENT.rpf. If resident.rpf is not in mods yet, copy it there first. Right-click vehicles.awc and choose Export to openFormats. You get vehicles.oac sitting next to a vehicles folder of .wav files.
  2. Import both together. Click Import OAC and folder. Choose the .oac, then choose the wave folder beside it. Highlight the folder and press Select Folder. Opening the folder goes inside it. Or drop the .oac and the wave folder onto the box together.
  3. See which WAV is which. Each sound shows its WAV name, the AudioString to paste into an ELS XML, and the WavFile to paste into a SmurfBlues XML. The stock list is under this.
  4. Export from SmurfAudio. Click Export OAC for OpenIV. Unzip the download so the .oac is beside its wave folder again. Leave the track names as they were, or ELS will not find them.
  5. Import back into OpenIV. In that same RESIDENT.rpf, right-click empty space, choose Import openFormats, and pick the .oac. OpenIV writes the AWC. ELS keeps the same AudioString. You replaced the WAV behind it.

SmurfBlues does not use this round trip. Click Export SmurfBlues WAVs, put the files in SmurfBlues\sounds\sirens\, and paste the WavFile line into the vehicle XML. Leave AudioString empty. The ELS names below are the ones from Aebian’s ELS siren list.
